In Canada, researchers unwittingly may have solved the disappearance of a U.S. Airforce amphibious airplane, which allegedly sank in the seaway on November 2, 1942, during rough weather.
The Canadian underwater archeologists were working on a nearby project when the wreck was uncovered. The amphibious aircraft was the product of U.S. and Canadian collaboration during WWII.
Since the wreck appears to be in good condition, the group is hopeful that the five victims will be recovered. For more information on this story, check out this AFP story.
