Review: THE ORDEAL OF TOTAL WAR by Gordon Wright

Matt from Matt’s Book Blog also read and reviewed The Ordeal of Total War:  1939-1945 by Gordon Wright for the WWII reading challenge.  Here’s an excerpt from his review:

The Ordeal of Total War, 1939-45 (Gordan Wright, 1968) is an ambitious attempt to cover WWII in Europe in one volume. About a third covers military operations and political events that would be useful for readers who want just the facts. The remaining chapters cover responses to the war in the fields of science, economics, mass persuasion, industry and literature in the UK, France, Germany, and the USSR.
