Review: BEARING THE BODY by Ehud Havazelet

Lorri from Jew Wishes read Bearing the Body by Ehud Havazelet earlier this year, counting it toward the WWII reading challenge.  Here’s an excerpt from her review:

There are no right answers to the questions that Havazelet’s writing evokes. He writes with sensitivity, ever aware of the frailty of humans, ever conscious of the Holocaust and of the repercussions and consequences of the survivors’ choices. He is not judgmental, doesn’t force blame on anyone, but at the same time, he writes with clarity, not sugar-coating the situations and scenarios that Sol and Nathan find themselves in.
