Review: AWAY FROM THE BOMBS by Ricky Clitheroe

Away From the Bombs by Ricky Clitheroe was another book chosen by Fleur Fisher of Fleur Fisher Reads for the WWII reading challenge.  Here’s an excerpt from her review:

Another boy evacuated to Cornwall – but in this case to my father’s home town of Newlyn. I found a copy in the Cornish section of the library and home it came.

It’s a little book and unpolished, but none the worse for that. Because what you have is one man’s clear and straightforward account of a childhood that he clearly remembers so well and wants to share.
