Review: THE TIME IN BETWEEN by David Bergen

Heather from Age 30+…A Lifetime of Books recently reviewed The Time in Between by David Bergen for the Vietnam War Reading Challenge.  Here’s a little of what she had to say:

Vietnam Veteran Charlie decides to visit Vietnam thirty years after he fought there. When his family doesn’t hear from him for a while, two of his children, Ada and John, head to Vietnam to look for him.

I really didn’t like this book. I enjoyed the portions of the story told from Charlie’s point of view, but most of the book was told from Ada’s point of view and I just didn’t get her. Nor did I get John. If I flew around the world to look for my missing (and semi-estranged) father, I think I’d be searching a bit more actively.
