Review: NOVEL WITHOUT A NAME by Duong Thu Huong

Matt’s Book Blog recently reviewed Novel Without a Name by Duong Thu Huong for the Vietnam War Reading Challenge.  Here’s an excerpt from his review:

Along with portraying the horrors of extended jungle combat – American bombing and friendly fire and hungry tigers  –  Duong Thu Huong also portrays country people as apathetic, sly, gossiping, cruel, grasping. Plus, traditional values as seen as narrow, deadening, and anti-woman.
