JUST BOOKS reviewed The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane for the U.S. Civil War Reading Challenge 2011.  Here’s an excerpt:

This book is written beautifully. As your reading you can see and feel the conflict Henry is having. The anger, heartache, and fear. Henry goes into this war thinking he will be a hero, but when it comes to fighting in a battle, he’s scared, as he should be.
