Review: RECEDING TIDE by Edwin C. Bearrs and J. Hills

Today’s Reading List recently read and reviewed Receding Tide by Edwin C. Bearss and J. Hills for the U.S. Civil War Reading Challenge.  Here’s a sample:

The tone is such that the reader feels like he’s sitting across the table from Bearrs as the two enjoy an adult beverage. And, as happens with many such works, there’s something to be gleaned not often found elsewhere – a reasonable explanation of Ewell’s failure to act on Lee’s command to move forward at the start of Gettysburg.
