Movie Review: WAR HORSE

Books and Movies watched and reviewed War Horse for the WWI Reading Challenge in 2012.  Here’s an excerpt:

This movie was epic, but of course, what else would you expect from Steven Spielberg? War Horse follows Joey, a horse trained by a young farmer’s son named Albert, as he moves from owner to owner during the course of World War I. As I am not a big animal person, I was worried about whether or not I could stay engaged in what was, essentially, the horse’s story, but I was completely engrossed from opening scene to closing credits. And so was the whole family, everyone from age 46 down to age 10 – and that is saying a lot, as the movie runs about 2 hours and 20 minutes.
