Movie Review: IN LOVE AND WAR

One Great War watched and reviewed In Love and War, the movie, for the WWI Reading Challenge in 2012.  Here’s an excerpt:

Chris O’Donnell plays Hemingway, who is basically a cocky eighteen-year-old idiot. Sandra Bullock plays the older, calmer von Kurowsky, who comes across as appealing and intelligent, but very controlled. It is difficult to understand what she sees in Hemingway, who is attractive and charming in that way teenage boys can be, but doesn’t have much else to recommend him.

  1. I’m a big Sandra Bullock fan, but I didn’t like this movie. She basically phoned in her part. I agree with your assessment of Hemingway’s character. He was so immature and volatile. What did she ever see in him?
