Review: FLY AWAY PETER by David Malouf

One Great War has reviewed Fly Away Peter by David Malouf for the WWI Reading Challenge in 2012.  Here’s an excerpt:

Beautifully written, very poetical, and manages to lift you above the mess while still somehow plunging you deeper into it (take that, snide seventeen-year-old self). Historical detail certainly feels “truthy”; nothing really jarred, and since this is more a prose poem than a work of historical fiction I’d be willing to let a bit of playing with the history slide.
