sophia's warBooks and Movies reviewed Sophia’s War: A Tale of the Revolution by Avi for the 2013 American Revolution Reading Challenge. Here’s an excerpt:

I adore Avi! I love the fact that he doesn’t write down to his young readers, and that makes his middle grade and YA fiction eminently readable by people of all ages. I picked this one up for the War Through the Generations Challenge, and I’m so glad I did.

Backed up and supported by primary and secondary sources,  Avi’s story conveys the importance of these unproven, experimental iron ships and the significance of the battles that took place at sea.”
