The 2009 Military History Weekend, sponsored by Casemate Publishing, W. Britain, and Osprey Publishing, is slated for Oct. 16-18 in Williamsburg, Va. There are numerous activities planned for adults and kids alike including:
- Book signings, with authors such as “Band of Brothers” member Col. Eddie Shames of the WWII 101st Airborne
- Vintage military vehicles and equipment on display
- An American Revolution mini-boot-camp for children ages 6-10
- Wargame demonstrations
- Re-enactors discussing their equipment
- Tour of the Virginia War Museum ($25)

If you’re in the area, it looks like an interesting event. And it’s affordable, with tickets priced $5 per adult or $5 for families up to 6 people. Children 16 and under are free.

Very cool! Kiddo’s Cub Scout pack already blocked that weekend out for a camping trip … maybe we can camp at Williamsburg and do the Festival as well. 🙂
